b'2024Post WPMAEXPOKeynote Jesse Watters Wednesday, Educational SessioncontinuedJeremy went on to introduce the Keynote Speaker for the 2024 WPMAEXPO, Jesse Watters. Jesse laid out a comically convoluted timeline of his adventures at Fox News, complete with the whirlwind of covering Donald Trumps rollercoaster of a presidential campaign in 2015-16. In referencing this time Jesse stated, The Country was blissfully ignorant. We were just unaware of what was going on at that time, and the two people who were supposed to save the country, Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush, were the two most boring politicians in Washington. Until Donald Trump came down the escalator. At first, I thought he was just there to sell hats, but he wasnt. He started making a very strong emotional connection with the voters.s basically where Do you guys know what the Iowa State fair is? Itpoliticians go to pretend they are real people. They have deep fried butter, and they kiss pigs. Trump comes in on a helicopter and lands in the middle of the Iowa State fair. He gets out in a $5000 suit, grabs a pork chop on a stick, and starts giving kids rides in his helicopter. Thats when you knew, and at Fox News we couldnt believe what we were watching.Jesse told stories of his interview with The President aboard AirForce One, pocketing anything he could with a logo on it, and of being invited to Camp David for dinner and a movie with Donald and Melania Trump during the COVID-19 Pandemic. He reminisced stating, The president obviously had a very rambunctious term; a lot of conflict and you understand why. In February he had just beaten the impeachment, he had about 50% approval rating, and things were starting to come together. He had so much money in his war chest, it looked like smooth sailing. Then the pandemic hit, and the stock market crashed, and there were all sorts of racial riots all over the country. It was this point that was probably the lowest point of his presidency.Jesse rounded off his narratives with his perspective on the oil and gas industry. I wanted to talk about your industry, the oil and gas industry, because I heard you guys were a little concerned about the future. What Ive learned from listening, because Im such a great listener, is that this green technology is not ready for Prime Time. They already have started rolling back all the wind and solar projects. I dont know if youve seen the EV market, its only about 3 to 4% mar-ket penetration. Hertz is giving up all their EVs. Detroit is not happy with production. Its not something thats going to be able to continue. Theyre going to have to find something else besides lithium, because the lithium battery isnt going to do it. Lithium, as a material, is not energy dense enough. Right now, you have countries like Germany.Germany has now committed economic suicide because theyve ta-pered off oil and gas. The German geography is dense forests and so now, theyre having to burn coal. I mean solar works in the southwest, wind works in the Great Plains, but you cant put solar in New York, its dark. You cant put wind turbines in Vermont, its just densely for-ested. So, the Greens and a lot of the Politicians are starting to wake up to this right now. Joe Biden has just announced hes pushing back all of these emission targets for Detroit, because theyre never going to reach them. Its absolutely impossible.Jesse concluded with these sentiments The American oil and gas industry is the best in the world, and you should be very proud of yourselves. You make the American dream go.14 www.wpma.com / Spring 2024'
