One scholarship is also available to children of WPMA Associate members. Heres some information on the WPMA Scholarship Foundation program.What is the WPMA Scholarship?The originalWPMA Scholarship Fund was created in 1990, for the purpose of giving financial aid to the children of employees of WPMA marketer member companies as they pursue higher education through university or technical school attendance. Today, the WPMA Scholarship Foundation awards a total of ninescholarships to eligible students each year. Each scholarship has a possible benefit of up to $4,000. Since 1990, theFoundation has awarded over $770,000in scholarships to 234 students. The WPMA Scholarship Foundation isheadquartered in the home office of theWestern Petroleum Marketers Association in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is registered as a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization with the IRS. Donations to the Scholar-ship Foundation are tax-deductible. Funding the ScholarshipsThe WPMA Scholarship programis funded through several annual events: the WPMA Scholarship Golf Tournament, held each February at the WPMAEXPO in Las Vegas; the Scholarship Silent Auction, held during the WPMAEXPO, and income from donations to the Scholarship Foundation. An elite donors reception is held each year on the Monday night preceding the WPMAEXPO for donors who have donated $1,000 or more to the Foundation in the past year. WPMA News / Spring 202149'
