b'Scholarship FoundationHave You Heard About the WPMA Scholarship Program? continuedApplying for the ScholarshipsApplicant EligibilityAn applicant for the WPMA Scholarships must be a gradu-ating high school senior. Children of full-time, permanent employees of marketer members of WPMA state associa-tions, whose primary residence is located within the WPMA state where the membership resides, are eligible to apply for the scholarship. A graduating high school senior who is the son or daughter of an associate member or of a full-time, permanent employee may apply for the Associate-at-Large scholarship. Each applicant must be a dependent based on the guidelines of deductibility for income tax purposes. High school seniors who currently work part-time WPMA Scholarship Golf Tournamentfor a WPMA member company may also apply for the WPMA Scholarship if they have worked for the company for at least three months.AwardsThe scholarship is paid out in incre-ments of $500 per semester. This scholarship is not automatically renewable, but the student may renew it for three years if he/she meets the eligibility requirements, therefore making it a possible award of $4,000. Selection of RecipientsScholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record (including ACT and/or SAT scores), financial need, extracurricular and community activities, and required essays on educa-tion and career goals. Payment of ScholarshipScholarship money is paid two times each year in equal installments. Each student is expected to main-tain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of2.5 or above. Students wishing topursue non-scholastic opportunities such as military service, church service, personal or family needs, or other voluntary service can request a voluntary suspension of their scholarship.
