b'2025 State Report OREGON Fuels Association ReportOREGON ORIGINALSummer has arrived,bringing with it a sense of energy and excitement as OFA anticipated our annual conference in the beautiful setting of Sunriver, OR. This event promised to be an incredible opportunity for fun, delicious food, and invaluable network-ing, where members of the Oregon Fuels Association came together to share ideas and foster relationships that drive our industry forward.Our engaging schedule, featured not just two golf tournaments, but also trap shooting,Krista Fenton Williamsa vibrant PAC reception, a family pool party, and an arcade night with a DJ. Addition-OFA Executive Director ally, we were proud to host a fantastic array of industry-related speakers who shared their insights and expertise, empowering us to navigate the ever-evolving landscape ofpetroleum marketing. In May, two representatives from the OFA board had the opportunity to attend the EMA Day on the Hill, where we engaged in vital discussions with several Oregon congressmen and women, advocating for the interests of our local fuel providers. The insights gained from our conversations with policymakers were so valuable, reflecting OFAs commit-ment to truly understanding the regulatory hurdles our members face. Legislative UpdateThe 2025 Oregon Legislative Session adjournedsine die at 11:15pm on Friday, June 27th and will be remembered as one of the most chaotic and directionless sessions in recent memory. Nearly 4,000 bills were introducedcreating legislative gridlock, policy whiplash, and confusion for stakeholders navigating an increasingly unpredictable policymaking environment.Despite holding supermajorities, Democratic leaders failed to advance key priorities or maintain internal alignment. The breakdown was most apparent in the collapse of a proposed statewide transportation funding package in the final hours. Leadership, with help from the Governor, tried to revive transportation investments but could not over-come a significant political divide during final hours of the session. Governor Tina Kotek is expected to call a special session to try again meaning this session is over, but the work is not.WPMA News / Summer 202541'
