b'2022 WPMA Utah State ReportcontinuedUPMRA Lobbies Leadershipto Suspend State Gas TaxIn Utah,Lobbyist Gary Thorup and State Director, John Hill have been actively lobbying legislative leadership, incumbentlegislators and candidates at numerous fundraisers, requesting that a special legislative session be convened, to eliminate or at least suspend the indexed portion of Utahs gas tax. If nothing is done, come January 1st, there will be an unwelcome gas tax increase for consumers of $.04 per gallon! . We have also reached out to Governor Cox, because either he or the legislature must call the special session to stop the gas tax increase fromgoing into effect. Legislative Lunch(November 17th)follows Mid-term ElectionsThe mid-term electionsare coming up (November 8th), and we encourage everyone to get out and vote, and join us at noon on Thursday, November 17th at the UPMRA Legislative Lunch, to meet the newly elected State legislators.
