This year felt like our comeback year after several years disrupted by COVID. It was fantastic to reunite our industry family and feel that networking vibe and energy again! In a post-convention survey, the three main messages attendees conveyed was that our speaker lineup this year was a highlight, the overall schedule and expe-rience was better than the previous two years, and 80% of those who responded Lea McCulloughindicated Suncadia Resort is the most convenient and desirable place to host our WA Associationfuture shows. Suncadias location is centrally located and easy for our member-Executive Director ship to attend. Suncadias ownership has changed again and has returned to some of the origi-nal investors who want to see the initial vision of Suncadia come to fruition. Future plans include building a 5,000 square foot space near the lookout over the river, renovating the rooms in the Lodge, and starting construction of the outdoor Village Mall between the spa and amphitheater. Our Association continues to be engaged with WSPA where it makes sense, and together we are working on a useful and productive day where we can combine our voices for a Day on the Hill. Because Governor Inslee still has Washington State under an official state of emergency from COVID, it is unclear whether we will be allowed to physically and personally work on the Hill, or if Zoom meetings will be required again. So stay tuned for more information. Let your VOICE BE HEARD! The most important action you can take this year is to VOTE and allow your voice to be heard. Change cannot occur if we dont show up on November 8th at the polls and vote our heart. Please connect with Lea for guidance on which races the Association is supporting.S32 www w.wpma.c32ww.wpma.com / Aomutumn 2021 / Fall 2022'
